Abbey switches to Optimus MIS

Abbey Manufacturing Group, based in Smithfield, New South Wales, has recently enlisted an Optimus Dash management information system to help with the diversified business. Abbey currently produces a range of products including plastic envelopes, menus, signage, wine boxes, and decals. Abbey operations manager Christian Macgregor says the previous system had become time consuming and clunky, but the Optimus Dash performs like it was designed for print businesses. He says, “Abbey has diversified a lot over the last five years which has added to the complexity of our systems. “We chose Optimus Dash as our range of products is massive, with over 90 per cent made to order, therefore the estimating function and job sheets needed to be suitable for our requirements.

“Optimus offered this and we will be able to configure Dash to suit our printing services, including foil, screen and large format, which made Dash the clear winner. We are not offset printers, so one of the off the shelf packages was not flexible enough for us.” Macgregor says he had looked for a system capable of managing enquiries right through to despatch and payment. He also required additional reporting on product sales, production costs, factory machinery and overall job tracking. He says the system can service businesses like Abbey which do not fit a standard mould. Nicola Bisset, managing director at Optimus, adds, “The diverse and growing range of products produced by Abbey really highlights how our award winning Optimus Dash can manage any print and non-printed related products and services.”
