Aussies to take regional lead for Roland DG

The rise of Roland DG executives Marc Margetts and John Wall continues as the wide format manufacturer hands responsibility for the Asia Pacific region to its Australian subsidiary.

Margetts has been promoted to president of the Asia Pacific region, while continuing as Roland DG Australia chief executive, while Wall will take on more responsibility nationally as president of Roland Australia.

The pair was last promoted in November, Wall jumping from sales manager to Australian general manager and Margetts gaining more responsibility for the region. The goal is to ‘consolidate industry leadership’ locally and to ‘expand the thriving ASEAN market’.

The Australian arm of the company has proved one of the most successful in the world for Roland DG for the past 25 years, and claims the majority market share in its sector.

The promotions allow Roland DG Australia to manage regional operations and report directly to Japan, giving Roland headquarters a single point of contact for the Asia Pacific instead of dealing with each country separately.

It is part of Roland DG’s international GlobalOne plan designed to ‘strengthen the corporation's leadership positions in the markets it serves around the world’.

Roland DG executive officer Dave Goward says: “Asia-Pacific represents one of the fastest growing regions for expanding our business.”

“With their strong knowledge of Asian markets, I am confident in the abilities of Marc and John to guide our efforts there,” he says.
