Australia’s largest mobile billboard wows crowds at Bridge to Brisbane

The centrepiece of the extensive outdoor project was the largest mobile billboard in Australia, the SkyBoard, which is the equivalent of four supersites each side, and was used for the first time as a stage.

Singer Vanessa Amarosi, who headlined the charity event, performed on the SkyBoard Stage, which offers a whopping 413.2sqm of display space.

The SkyBoard had also been used in the four-week campaign leading up to the event, as a 192sqm double-sided billboard.

Rod Kirkwood from Outdoor Intelligence said: “This was an excellent demonstration of SkyBoard’s versatility, the world’s largest portable billboard that converts into a stage, corporate facility or viewing deck.

“Event organisers and sponsors loved the brand exposure of SkyBoard’s more than 400sqm of printed vinyl… the whole structure sets up in under two hours and dismantles in under an hour, with only two people.”

SkyBoard Australia owner Steve Lambourne said: “The SkyBoard skins were printed on the Fujifilm Uvistar printer, which can produce an output up to 360sqm per hour.

“We believe the Uvistar is the best printer for the job for both quality and speed,” added Lambourne.

Lambourne has the exclusive Australasian rights to SkyBoard, which was first devised in the Netherlands. He told ProPrint he intends to expand into Sydney and Melbourne.

The Bridge to Brisbane was held on Sunday 2 September, ending at the RNA Showgrounds.
