Blue Star NZ boss David Jupe leaves after Geon integration

Jupe has been with Blue Star for 16 years, and became chief executive in 2008. He played a key role in the 2011 campaign to persuade bondholders to restructure the company, which was based on financial forecasts that ultimately proved to be wildly inaccurate.

Jupe remained as New Zealand chief after the New Zealand business was acquired by Tom Sturgess. He then led the integration of Geon NZ following the March buyout.

“It has been a challenge and a privilege leading this business through everything it has faced in recent years, and I’m excited for the team given the opportunities ahead. It’s just time for a break," said Jupe.

Sturgess said: "We will miss David’s passion, commitment and zeal.  He leaves a capable team well equipped to carry on. David has my admiration and respect for his great effort and we wish him the very best for the future."
