Di Sign Group seeks to wind up Skope Group over outstanding debt

Di Sign Group Pty Ltd, a Melbourne based signage print business, has launched wind up action against Sydney based operation Skope Group, which trades under the name Scream Visual, over outstanding debts.

The wind-up notice was posted on the Australian Securities Investment Commission website on Wednesday.

Melbourne law firm Mendelsons Lawyers is acting on behalf of Di Sign in the action and lawyer Eva Sabbadini told Sprinter: “The winding up action is about insolvency. At the moment we are presuming the business is insolvent as it is not being able pay its debts as they fall due.”

Sabbadini said there was no link between the two businesses, confirming they are two opposing operations that do provide the same service which is primarily signage production.

She also could not confirm would take place in terms of Skope Group’s assets in the event of the court agreeing to wind up the operation.

She would also not confirm the amount of money currently owed.

Should the debts be cleared prior to December 10 when the matter is due before the federal court in Melbourne then the matter will be dropped, Sabbadini said.
