Don’t miss print’s best and brightest at National Print Awards

The awards night will be a showdown between the 182 jobs that triumphed at each state and territory's Print Industry Craftsmanship Awards.

The NPAs will be held on 20 April at Melbourne's Crown Casino and will feature a gala dinner and entertainment. This year's theme will be 'Greatest Hits'.

Awards chairman John Wanless said that in a "challenging environment", it was "important to take advantage of opportunities to celebrate good times with our colleagues and industry friends and to recognise what is still great about our industry".

"Creating a print job that meets the most exacting standards of excellence is every bit as challenging as writing or producing a hit song – and we're certainly intending to ensure we recognise our Greatest Hits with the same kind of style, even if we don't have quite as many fans gathering outside the building for autographs," he added.

Wanless said there were plenty of other reasons for interstate people to make the trip.

"As well as Melbourne's famed dining and shopping, you'll be able to catch some fantastic acts at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, get your last chance to see the acclaimed Dinosaur Walk at the Melbourne Museum, or watch traditional rivals Carlton and Essendon slog it out at the MCG – there's so much to do, it's well worth the visit."
