Former McMillan Print man opens Sydney print management firm

A new Sydney print manager has said it will rely on automation rather than undercutting to succeed.

Inside Out Print is owned by former McMillan Print and Australian Envelopes employee Arin Ohandjanian, who is also a director of digital agency Spyre Digital.

He told ProPrint that he planned to launch the business in December. It will be powered by an integrated MIS and web-to-print system from MyPrintCloud, which will allow Inside Out to set up multiple branded webstores that will all feed into the same MIS.

Ohandjanian said MyPrintCloud would help Inside Out maximise margins by reducing touchpoints within the business.

Inside Out will start with two staff – him and his wife. He said he didn't want Inside Out to exceed four staff, because the software would allow the firm to stay lean and agile.

"I've always had that entrepreneurial thing in me. I've always looked at processes and workflows with the companies I worked at and always saw a gap."

Ohandjanian said Inside Out had established partnerships with reliable trade printers that would allow it to offer quality products and fast turnarounds.

He added that Inside Out had no intention of being the cheapest print manager, because clients were willing to pay more for good customer service.

"How low can we go as an as industry? I don't want to be known as a guy that's winning on price. On some items we'll be more expensive, on some items we'll be cheaper."

Ohandjanian told ProPrint that Inside Out would probably be able to bring some clients across from Spyre Digital, but that the two companies would operate independently.

Inside Out's core offering will be business cards, flyers, booklets, brochures and banners.

Meanwhile, MyPrintCloud has picked up about 30 Australian customers since it was launched at PacPrint, said global sales manager Lucas Eyre.

"It gives them an instant retail presence with an unlimited amount of corporate and retail stores," he told ProPrint.

Retail stores include integrated payment gateways and come populated with more than 6,000 templates.

Printers can use an integrated MIS to do estimating and send out email campaigns, he said.
