Fujifilm Dimatix introduces new single-pass printhead

Each drop-on-demand printhead features 1,024 jets per arranged in eight rows, each with 128 channels.

According to the manufacturer, that head can jet picoliter drop sizes of between 20-30 and can work with aqueous, oil-based and ceramic inks.

However, when combined with the company’s VersaDrop jetting technology, the printhead can operate in grayscale operation and print drop sizes of up to 80 picoliters.

The SG-1024/M printhead also incorporates the manufacturer’s newRediJet jetting technology. This is claimed to help reduce ink consumption and cut the start-up times associated with printing, especially on high-speed single pass machines.

The SG-1024/M forms part of the Fujifilm Dimatix line-up at Drupa 2012, which will also include its Samba Mems printhead technology that is features in the Fujifilm Jet Press 720.

Its presence at the show will also include technology such as the DMP-2831 and DMP-3000 systems for printed electronic applications.
