Hannanprint GM Graham Trickey hired as new MD of STI Lilyfield

Graham Trickey told ProPrint he was “very excited” to be taking over from Ian Kingham at the end of March.

“It’s a business that’s very challenging and needs some direction and leadership and that’s what I’ll give it – put some lean enterprise into it.”

A printer by trade, Trickey worked at Hannanprint since 1999, and as general manager of operations since 2010.

The appointment marks a change of direction for Trickey after more than a decade in the web offset world; STI Lilyfield runs sheetfed offset and digital printing equipment to serve its core POS and commercial printing clients.

Trickey said he was attracted to the role because it was with “a worldwide business” that would provide “new stepping stones for me across a different part of the industry”.

STI Lilyfield said it appointed Trickey because he had “excellent industry knowledge as well as a proven track record in manufacturing, but also in sales, pre-press and administration”.

“His future targets are to make STI Group the preferred supplier for commercial printing and POS solutions in Australia,” the company added.

Trickey describes his leadership style as “caring and charismatic” on his LinkedIn profile.

Hannanprint managing director Tony Dedda told ProPrint the company had restructured its management in the wake of Trickey’s departure so that his old position no longer existed.

STI Lilyfield is part of the $320 million-turnover German corporation STI Group, which acquired Lilyfield Printing in August 2009.

The company is based at a 10,000sqm site in Padstow, which it took over in June 2010 after acquiring the assets of high-profile Sydney printer Pettaras Press out of administration.
