Hannanprint installs Rima stacker

The crew behind Hannanprint Victoria’s Goss Sunday2000 press was all smiles when the first compensated bundle was pushed out from the company’s new Rima RS 36S. Previously they faced a routine struggle with their previous compensating stacker. especially when they were running stitched and thick tabloid folds from the folder. Because of the stitched spine and the slippery, hard to control tabloid size products, the crew had to battle with frequent jams in the stacker and manually jog up the untidy bundles from the stacker. Production speed had to be reduced because of these. With the additional of the Rima System RS 36S high speed indexing compensating stacker, they are now no longer plagued with having to manually jog up the bundles and dealing with frequent jams despite with an increased production speed compare to what they were able to do before.

Coupled with an existing blocking unit and inline cross strapping unit, the crew is now able to increase the efficiency, reduce waste and the work output. Tom Ralph, managing director of supplier Graph Pak says, “The RS 36S is the ideal stacker for high-speed and high-volume applications. The upper bin has two sets of forks which pre-collect the copies and descend according to the speed of the shingled stream and the thickness of the copies. The pre-collected stack is then lowered into the waiting turntable. Especially large formats and/or low grammage papers benefit from this system as the falling height of the products in the infeed to the upper bin as well as during the transfer to the turntable is minimized. The turntable then builds compensated and compressed stacks. The “intelligent” servo pusher, together with the synchronized pivoted delivery belt, guarantees soft and controlled stack ejections even at shortest cycle times. Ease of operation is provided by the swivel mounted guards, the central bin adjustment and the graphic touch screen. “Like all Rima System stackers, the RS 36S is based on proven technology and offers an excellent return on investment.”
