‘Hasn’t missed a beat’: Rob Hansen on new Screen CtP

Hansen Design & Print, a well-established regional printer with five locations in South Australia and Victoria, has upgraded its computer-to-plate technology with a new Screen PlateRite 4600E now up and running after being supplied through Fujifilm.

Rob Hansen said as his business is located in a rural area, the need for reliability is a crucial element in any investment decision.

He said there were other options on the market, but he is very happy with this choice with the Screen model being proving itself to be extremely reliability which is critical in his operating environment.

“We bought the Fujifilm Screen CtP PlateRite 4600e. There was another option which was considerably cheaper but the most important thing in a rural environment like ours is reliability and that is why I went that way,” Hansen told Sprinter.

“It is a proven workhorse in the print industry. What confirmed my decision was the initial install and the training, it was just exceptional. The machine went in in January this year, so four months ago and it hasn’t missed a beat.”

He also gave praise to James Young, a Fujifilm representative who helped guide his decision.

“Fujifilm’s rep in South Australia, James Young, went out of his way, arranging for me to visit local printers in Adelaide so I could see first-hand the machine in operation,” Hansen said.

Luke Wooldridge, National Sales Manager, Graphic Systems Division at Fujifilm Australia said Fujifilm looks forward to continuing to work with Hansen Design and Print in the future.

“Since the Fujifilm process-less plate & Screen CtP installation, Hansen Print have installed Fujifilm Photo Processing equipment in Naracoorte & Bendigo and we look forward to growing our association with them,” Wooldridge told Sprinter.

Screen GP Australia managing director Peter Scott said he is very pleased to have Rob Hansen as a joint customer with Fujifilm.

“Rob Hansen contacted me a year ago and following our discussion it was clear the best way forward was to work with our partner Fujifilm to provide the best solution. Screen and Fujifilm have worked closely together over many years and I am very pleased to have Hansen Print & Design as a joint customer.”
