John Herrod in staff buy-out

Plastics and in-mould printing company John Herrod & Associates has been bought by its senior staff in a ‘smooth’ management buy-out.

The Melbourne-based printer has been in business since 1963, and has been acquired by managers, who the formers owners say are ‘well known to the business.’

John Herrod & Associates director Paul Herrod told ProPrint that both staff and customers are happy with the transition, and it will be ‘business as usual.’

“It was a smooth transition, and staff and customers are absolutely happy with the MBO,” he says.

“The buyers are Chris Scott, Justin Bennett and Stefan Gajdosik and they have been there for many years.”

Herrod says there will be no major changes to the day-to-day business practices, and there are no future plans for any such change.

“There will be the same staff and same location" says Herrod.

“The original owners will remain active in the business for the next three years.”

Herrod began in business specialising in offset printing on paper in 1963.

However, in 1988 it evolved its business to printing on plastics, and today its core business is in-mould labels. It works with some of the world’s biggest brands, allowing it to be an industry leader producing award-winning work.

The company says that ‘with the latest technology in prepress, print and die cutting techniques, and a dedicated team who share a passion for quality and detail, Herrod’s is committed to the highest standard of in-mould label production and plastic printing.’
