Konica Minolta helps small printers automate workflow more easily

Konica Minolta said the partnership with FileBound would give printers access to "exceptional software solutions" that would reduce their production costs.

"FileBound can automate a number of manual processes throughout the business cycle – from accounts payable to manufacturing and delivery – and turn them into time-efficient, electronic operations which will dramatically speed up workflow and accuracy," it said.

"The partnership is in line with Konica Minolta's core strategy to boost its integrated software services, combining print management and document workflow software solutions."

Konica Minolta's head of product marketing, Chris Goult, said smaller printers had traditionally seen workflow software as relevant only to larger firms.

"Automating and streamlining essential processes is not reserved for large corporations – it is becoming the norm for businesses of all sizes," said Goult.

"Working together, Konica Minolta and FileBound will allow customers to file, store, share, retrieve, secure, archive and audit all critical documents."

Goult said electronic content management and optimised document management were "the way of the future for business".
