Lithotechnics launches Metrix 2010, adds CFO

The major update to the job-planning software is the introduction of an ‘Auto Sheet Size’ feature, building on the software’s Auto Layout Engine which optimises the layout of products on a single sheet size for a specific press and printing method.

The Auto Sheet Size function now enhances the automation of the software to select the most cost-effective sheet size, printing method and press to manufacture a set of products on a single layout.

Lithotechnics president and founder Rohan Holt said: “With each new release we draw closer and closer to our goal of totally automating the production-critical areas of job planning and imposition. The Auto Sheet Size feature makes Metrix 2010 especially exciting, as it rounds out and extends the existing automation features.”

Lithotechnics said it has also enhanced the security and ease-of-use of Metrix with the 2010 version.

Meanwhile, the developer has also announced the appointment of former Creo Americas treasurer John Eames (pictured) as chief financial officer. Eames has worked a variety of developers, including ScenicSoft and WinEstimator.

“John’s extensive experience as a controller, treasurer, and chief financial officer makes him one of the top people in his field,” Holt said. “But perhaps equally as important, John has spent a great many years in the specific industry we are part of, and a good deal of that time he was helping small companies to manage their growth and to prosper.”
