Madman makes another install

Madman Printing has made it three Heidelberg installations in two years after investing in a guillotine.

The Melbourne printer has installed a Polar 66 guillotine to manage its digital work, said managing director Dustin Pullin.

"We had an older model guillotine that was a bit of a toy in all honesty and didn’t have the capacity to manage an increased volume of digital jobs," he said.

"So we decided to get another Polar – we put in our first last year, the big brother to this one. The boys love it. It’s fast and highly accurate."

Pullin said the new guillotine was installed and operational within a week.

"That pretty much sums up the relationship we have with Heidelberg – they’ve been with us from the start [in 2003]. They respond quickly, and support us whether we are buying new or secondhand, a big-ticket item or a small cutter."

Madman also installed a six-colour Speedmaster CD 74 with coater and Inpress Control in 2012.

Heidelberg's head of product management & remarketed equipment, Shane Hanlon, congratulated Madman on reaching its 10th birthday in August.

"This is a lean, efficiently run business with its eye on service and a can-do attitude. But they also know how to have fun and they’ve created a great culture within the business that’s reflected in their success," said Hanlon.
