Manroland businesses agree global cooperation

Following Manroland's administration in late 2011, German Possehl Group acquired the web division, while British manufacturer Langley Holdings acquired the sheetfed side.

As part of Langley's purchase, over 40 sales and service companies were acquired, while subsidiaries in India and Australasia were acquired by Possehl.

Manroland Web Systems subsidiaries in Australasia and India will continue to represent Manroland Sheetfed in those territories.

Manroland Australasia managing director Steve Dunwell told ProPrint that the organisation was delighted with the arrangement.

"Sheetfed sales and service is a vital part of our business and we are a stronger company with both web and sheetfed products," he said.

"We have a great customer base and we are proud to continue our long term relationships with many of the best printers in Australia and New Zealand."

In the US, Manroland Web Systems began trading from the same premises in Chicago it now shares with Manroland Sheetfed, and in the UK, Manroland Sheetfed (UK) continues to trade from the company's previous premises in Mitcham.

Elsewhere, agency agreements are being agreed with sheetfed subsidiaries to represent Manroland Web Systems in Mexico and South America, excluding Chile; in Ireland, Finland, Benelux, France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal; in central and eastern Europe, excluding Poland; and in Greater China.
