Manroland won’t take presses to Ipex

The vendor will be offering visits to local print facilities if potential customers want to view their machines in action, but, according to Manroland Great Britain managing director Norman Revill, the company is more interested in discussing how it can help printers rather than showing them how fast a press can run.

“No matter what presses we have on show, we can never cover the whole audience and all products,” said Revill. “We have a lot more to talk about; it isn’t just about showing pieces of equipment. It is about being a strategic business partner. We want to understand what customers want and work together to maximise the profitability of their business.”

The company will showcase the entire spectrum of its abilities from press manufacturing to data and logistics.

There will be a particular focus on its Value Added Printing (VAP) concept and high automation. Sheetfed users will be able to visit the company’s VAP Tunnel, which will feature ways that they can increase the quality and efficiency of their printing.

In its Web Solutions Cen­tre, Manroland will be focused on automation and flexibility, with experts on hand to explain how applications can be implemented.

Revill added: “We want to be a little bit different, we have always set ourselves apart and we are excited about sitting down with customers and understanding what they want.”

The Manroland stand (pictured) will be in Hall 15 at Ipex, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC in the UK on 18-25 May.
