Melbourne finishing dealer celebrates busiest year in a decade

Neil Southerington, managing director of the machinery dealer, said 2011 was “probably our busiest year in about 10 years”.

“People have got to eat and drink and in tough times they eat more junk food,” he said.

“[The packaging market] not quite ‘recession-proof’ but the food industry isn’t affected by the problems hitting commercial printers.”

Southerington said a number of sales have gone to Melbourne-based MIG Packaging, which installed a SBL Smooth 1060 (pictured) die-cutter to accompany a matching model purchased earlier this year.

Over the typically quiet Christmas period, Graffica will be installing an SBL folding box gluer, SBL large-format diecutter and an SBL 185 guillotine at various locations.
