Metrix gets Aussie distributor

Aussie-developed workflow software Metrix now has an Australian distributor, with reseller Workflowz signing an exclusive agreement to provide sales and support to printers here.

While the production planning and automated imposition software was developed in Australia a decade ago and has some users here, it has not had a local distributor until now, having been sold to EFI last year.

Workflowz chief executive Alan Dixon says his company has been supplying Metrix in other markets like Britain and working with its creators since it was launched.

“With our global expansion it was a priority to ensure our product portfolio is aligned across all of our offices,” he says.

“We are already working with many Metrix users in Australia and it was a logical move to offer the complete solution where Metrix is a core component of clients workflow, alongside other solutions we have supplied to them and with our teams wealth of knowledge and experience.”

Dixon says the software is good for printers in the point of sale, wide format, and bound work markets.

“The ganging of multiple jobs leads to increased efficiencies in production with less plates, and make readies, and also better sheet optimisation,” he says.

Dixon says printers interested in upgrading their workflow should buy before the end of the year as EFI is raising the price from January 1.

Metrix was launched 10 years ago at Drupa 2004. Originally developed by the Australian company Lithotechnics, it was sold to EFI last year and now has more than 1200 users in 25 countries.
