Rather than one headline launch, the company said it had unveiled several small changes to improve its existing flagship machines.

The Bolero B9 perfect binder now runs at a maximum speed of 9,000 cycles per hour, up from 8,000. The machine also now features Muller’s latest PUR SPN glue nozzles, which it said offered improved adhesion and more uptime.

It has also been fitted with the 3694 rotary gatherer, launched at Ipex, which has been designed to keep up with the Bolero.

The gatherer can be loaded from both sides, allowing a second job to be prepared while the machine runs, and it is capable of handling a wide range of signatures.

Muller’s Presto E90 saddlestitcher, launched at Drupa 2008, has been given an entry-level sibling machine, the Presto A90. It runs at 9,000cph and is aimed at short to mid-size runs.

The company is also offering its Primera 160 saddlestitcher with two different levels of automation. The E160 features a fully automated set-up, while its sister machine, the C160, features synchronized feeder, gathering chain, stitching machine and three-knife trimmer.
