New-look Galley Club encourages publishers to embrace Australian print

The club nominated Keith Robinson as its new president. Robinson is digital business development executive at BPA Print Group, based in Melbourne.

Robinson told ProPrint that the Galley Club had an important role to play in educating the publishing industry on the capabilities of Australian printers.

“I’d like to get the publishers closer to the printers and I want to make sure that the publishers’ first point of call is home soil,” he said.

“The Galley Club is a compact unit and being president is just a title. We will all work hard and I’m very happy to be a part of this group.”

At the most recent Galley Club Awards, BPA took out the the top award, ‘Australian Printed Book of the Year’, for its work on The Sustainable Table. It marked the second time in four years that the Melbourne-based printer had won the category.

Other committee members named at the Galley Club’s annual general meeting last week include Penny Martin from Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and Robert Stapelfeldt from McPherson’s Printing Group.
