Next Printing wins silver at Fespa

A stylish shop window display has won Sydney wide format firm Next Printing a silver medal for paper and board point-of-sale at the global Fespa Awards.

The winning job, a backdrop for a window display in upscale women’s clothing chain Jigsaw, was one of three Next entries shortlisted for the awards and one of two in the category.

Next general manager Romeo Sanuri says the company drew on inspiration from 3D pop-up greeting cards to design and produce two displays that resembled Big Ben and St Paul's Cathedral, to bring Jigsaw’s UK heritage to life.

It is Next’s first medal at Fespa in two years of entering, though it regularly brings home a swag of awards from Dscoop each year.

The display was made with 16mm Re-board (fluted paper board) substrate, which Sanuri says is better alternative to other materials because it is lightweight, flatpacked and easy to set up and transport.

They were produced with Next Printing’s HP FB7600 and Durst P10 flatbed printers and cut with an Esko Kongsberg cutter.

Dutch firm PilloPak BV won the gold medal for its PicPong Pyramid display, while Belgium’s Hecht & Zebra also snagged a silver for its Red Devils Aircraft Wrap.

Opus subsidiary Cactus Imaging also had three shortlisted jobs in the out-of-home and vehicle decal category, but failed to win a medal.
