Oce and CGS team up on colour management

The deal will see Océ enhance its software range with products from CGS’ ORIS portfolio, with a particular focus on colour management and colour proofing solutions.

The incorporation of CGS’ colour management software is expected to help Océ’s reach into the hybrid sector, where digital and offset technology is required to complement each other while producing identical results.

CGS chief executive Trevor Haworth said the company was “excited” to be teaming up with one of the giants of digital.

“The ORIS technology seamlessly integrates with the wide range of Océ’s digital colour production systems, significantly enhancing colour output quality and repeatability,” he said.

Crit Driessen, vice president marketing and strategy at Océ Production Printing, said: “We are happy to co-operate with partners who can build on extensive know-how in colour management and traditional printing environments, long-term experience, and who enjoy a very good reputation in this particular market.

“CGS offers solutions that will help our customers smoothly extend and complement their traditional printing environment without making compromises in output colour standards.”
