Océ CrystalPoint

The CrystalPoint process converts smaller balls of colour toner, TonerPearl, into a gel. This is then jetted and crystallised on to the paper, producing waterfast images with accurate dot placement.

Due to the toner’s gel state, droplets stay compact even when jetted onto highly absorbent media. Once they bond, the toner crystallises, resulting in strong adhesion with an even semi-gloss finish. This offers strong adhesion to a variety of media and makes the ink suitable for outdoor or heavy-duty use.

The first machine to use the new technology is Oce’s ColorWave 600. The machine can handle an A0 sheet in 30 seconds or in three minutes in higher-quality presentation mode.
