Océ unveils new mono production printer at Print 09

The VarioPrint Ultra 6320 produces 314 A4 images, or 155 duplex A3 sheets per minute. It is 25 per cent faster than the Océ 6250 and also outstrips the 300ppm Kodak Digimaster EX300 and the Xerox Nuvera 288.

Océ UK production printing product manager Paul Krisson said: “We will once again have the fastest cut-sheet mono machine, and it’s still the only machine with one-pass technology.”

The VarioPrint 6000 range, which also includes 160, 200 and 250ppm machines, is aimed primarily at the print-on-demand book market, as well as the financial and higher education markets.

Last month, Océ announced it is offering temporary speed upgrade licences to owners of its 6000 range to help companies better handle varying production demands.

6000-series owners will be able to purchase SpeedPass upgrade licences for short periods to cope with peak production phases, with Océ claiming the upgrades boost speed in some cases by up to 60 per cent.
