Print managers buy Snap franchise

The new owners of Snap Rosebery hope to boost business by 10 per cent next year by offering a wider range of marketing services besides print.

Neil and Vesna Goller took over the franchise print shop last week, buying it from the retiring owners who had run it for 28 years.

Neil Goller, who has spent most of his career in print management at Stream Solutions and Blue Star, says new offerings like websites and electronic direct mail were not utilised under the former owners who are in their 70s.

He says as the print market has declined the franchise had got a bit behind without adding non-print services, but he is confident there is a lot of room for growth.

“I see great potential in upselling these new services to our existing commercial print clients, many of whom didn’t know Snap offered them,” he says.

“I want to run it how it should be run these days, as a marketing solutions provider, not just a printer.

"We want to grow it into an agency where clients can get whatever their business needs, including these additional services – asking how can we help your business, not just asking for their business.”

Goller says they decided to buy a Snap as their first business because the brand is so well known and has a support framework and training to help them learn the ropes.

“We always wanted to work for ourselves, but no one would know what Neil Goller Printing is. This way we have something to start from,” he says.

“Plus I began my career in a Snap so I’ve come full circle.”

Goller says they are in the process of meeting with the top 25 clients and expect organic growth of the business and letting local businesses know about the diversified services will boost sales.

He expects a 10 per cent increase in turnover from the current $500,000 a year and to be able to add more staff in the near future.

“It is early days so far, we are still letting people know what we can do now. At this point we just have to get it out there,” he says.
