printIQ hires 2019 ProPrint Emerging 50 nominee

Australian MIS and workflow developer, printIQ, has hired Herman Ng as a digital strategy and product specialist.

Herman was a member of the inaugural ProPrint Emerging 50 last year – which recognises the printing industry’s rising stars – while he was working as a digital specialist at printIQ customer – canvas printing specialist, Willems Art, in Brisbane.

printIQ product director Mick Rowan told Sprinter that Herman was told in February this year that if he wished to meet the requirements of residency in Australia, he would need to go and work in a regional area.

The Gold Coast is considered regional, so he reached out to the printIQ team and has now found himself working at Burleigh Heads alongside Rowan and the rest of the product team.

“Interestingly one of the guys we nominated for the Emerging 50 last year, now works for us,” Rowan told Sprinter.

“He’s now looking after our online digital strategy. He was sponsored by one of our customers and part of the deal for him to get residency in Australia was he had to work regionally. So he had to leave the company he was with and he reached out to us because the Gold Coast is considered regional.”

Herman started work with printIQ in February this year and it is all going very well for him.

“He is terrific. I firstly brought him in as a product specialist but as it turns out he has a lot of skills that I didn’t know he had. He is fantastic in the web space and SEO – he is great with Google Ads and all of that – so I was able to bring him into that,” Rowan said.

“He is working with the product team now; he is a terrific pick up.”

printIQ provides workflow and MIS systems to the printing industry and beyond and is growing in its global reach.

The company now has offices in the UK, US, New Zealand, as well as Melbourne and the Gold Coast in Australia.

printIQ is also again sponsoring the Power 50 for 2020 as a bronze sponsor.

If you have anyone you would like to nominate for either the Emerging 50 or the Power 50, please get in quick as nominations are closing soon. Emerging 50 nominees have five years or less industry experience. Power 50 nominees are industry leaders and innovators in senior roles.
