Q&A: Dave Morris, Graphitype Printing Services

Why did you get into printing?

I had a great interest in art and design, as well as all things mechanical. As soon as I sniffed the ink and solvents, the rest, as they say, is history!

What is your favourite phrase?

I’ve told you a million times not to exaggerate.

What would be your dream job?

Travelling the world as the skipper of a billionaire’s luxury yacht.

Who or what makes you laugh?

Slapstick humour.

What was your childhood obsession?

I used to watch the 707s flying overhead and wanted to travel to exotic locations. I’ve been fortunate to be able to do that.

If you didn’t work in print, what would you be doing?

I used to work in television, on the outside broadcast crew, which I really enjoyed. But if I didn’t work in print, probably I would still be in sales.

If your house was on fire, what three things would you rescue?

My iPhone, family photos and wallet.

Who would you like to be stuck on a desert island with?

Elle Macpherson.

What makes your blood boil?

Bad driving and the [former] Federal Labor government.

How do you like to unwind?

Over dinner and a few beers with friends, or watching a movie.

What did you want to be growing up?

A rock star!

Which famous person do you resemble?

Peter Sellers, as Inspector Clouseau.
