Roland DG reveals fastest-ever machine for signage and POS

The 1,625mm Soljet Pro4 XF-640 can reach speeds of 102sqm per hour and is ideal for signers, banners, posters, vehicle wraps, window graphics and point-of-sale displays, according to the manufacturer.

"The dual-mirrored CMYK ink configuration virtually eliminates banding for consistent colour imaging when handling large graphic files," said Roland DG.

"The new heads are also designed to fire high levels of ink for added density and rich, saturated colours."

The XF-640 has 16 pinch rollers and a new grit roller system to provide "flawless media feeding".

It also features a redesigned media take-up system and heater to reduce the time required for printing and drying graphics during high-speed, high-volume production.

Roland DG business development manager Conrad Birkett said the XF-640 would satisfy the growing demand for high-speed large-format machines amongst printers.

"While high volume production is the goal for many of these businesses, quality imaging is equally important," he said.

"The Pro4 XF-640 answers this need in the marketplace by combining exceptional print quality with reliable, high-speed performance.

"After the success of the versatile Pro4 XR-640 print-and-cut solution released last year, we are confident the new XF-640 advanced print-only solution will be a popular addition to the Pro4 range."

The XF-640 comes with Roland VersaWorks RIP and print management software, which features built-in Pantone libraries for spot-matching colours.

Roland DG will exhibit its new printer at PacPrint.
