RSDB owner eyes up French group

The group revealed this week that it was in buyout talks with Maury, which operates seven plants across France and employs around 1,800 people, as it also announced the completion of its €135m ($AU220m) buy-out of Quebecor World’s European operations.

Maury specialises in a range of web-offset products, including retail inserts, catalogues and books.

Should the deal go through, Maury’s operations would add to the 17 print plants run in the Quebecor World network, which employ about 3,500 staff, and the 2,300 staff employed by Roto Smeets’ parent RSDB, which was bought by HHBV for €132m ($AU215m) in May.
