Sappi boosts green product range with recycled gloss paper

The coated heatset web-offset paper contains 50% post consumer waste, is FSC-accredited and 100 per cent sustainable, according to the paper company.

Business manager Karin Hiddink said: “The new recycled grade is further proof of our ongoing commitment to be an environmentally conscious partner to the print and publishing industry.”

Sappi was the first paper company in Europe to achieve joint chain-of-custody certification for all its mills, under both the FSC and PEFC schemes, and they are all ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and EMAS certified.

Sappi’s Royal papers are primarily used for high-quality magazines, catalogues and brochures, as well as for schoolbooks, direct mail, inserts, and other commercial print applications.

Both grades are now available from 90-130gsm base weights, with 80gsm and 150gsm being supplied on demand.
