SEMA’s new chief executive will put company “in a class of one”

Hunter told ProPrint: “Our competitors can expect us to compete as ever but with even more focus and an increased emphasis on harnessing our IT and service prowess and problem-solving skills to put us in a class of one.”

His appointment comes as SEMA said it had completed a five-year transformation and growth plan under Van Der Laan. Hunter said he would continue to review the sectors in which SEMA operates, including printing, as mailing customers shift towards electronic channels.

“We have seen the attitude to the mail industry change and we have and will continue to use modern technology and maintain efficiency,” he said.

Hunter spent the past three years as SEMA’s chief financial officer.

Van Der Laan has taken on the role of executive chairman of the group. He said: “Keith has shown himself to possess all the skills, care and emotional intelligence to run a big company like ours.”
