Senior shuffle at Geon as Onsley leaves and ex Blue Star GM Glen Draper joins

Onsley (pictured) most recently held the title of executive general manager for strategy and growth, having joined the Geon in March 2008. He was previously general manager of the northern region before a management reshuffle in August 2010.

Geon chief executive Graham Morgan said: “I have worked with Tony at Geon for a number of years and he has been instrumental in building the company, its strategy and its culture.

“His passion for sales, marketing and people management were evident to all and he was one of the strongest advocates for Geon’s values. I wish Tony all the very best for the future.”

Onsley’s departure comes not long after the senior-level appointment of Glen Draper, who became Victorian & ACT general manager in June.

The role had been vacant since the management changes last August, when current Australian head Scott Thompson was promoted to the national position.

Draper was previously executive general manager, Print and Mail Victoria, at Blue Star, before being made redundant in November 2010.

it is believed that the appointment makes him the only top-level manager to have held such senior positions at both private equity-backed print groups.

A printer by trade, Draper started his career in 1993 at The Craftsman Press, which was acquired by Blue Star in 1997.
