Snap picks Prism WIN for group-wide MIS upgrade

The franchise group, which has 147 centres and three hubs in Australia, had been a Prism customer since the late 1990s but switched to Press-sense iWay around five years ago.

However, following Press-sense’s fall into administration and subsequent buyout by US company Bitstream in May this year, Snap begin exploring other options.

Snap Franchising general manager, IT, Peter Driscoll (pictured right), met with MIS vendors at Ipex before settling back with Prism. “It was a long way to get back home again.”

The first pilot site has now gone live at the Westpac Copy Centre in Sydney’s CBD, led by centre manager Fiona Harcourt (left).

Driscoll said the site illustrates the kind of idiosyncrasies a vendor faces when dealing with the needs of the franchise group.

“Of the many thousands of jobs the Westpac Copy Centre produces each year, 15,000 are under $150,” he said.

Kathy Mitchell, Prism’s global director, Professional Services and Technology, says: “It’s excellent news for us. We are very pleased to have them back as customers.”

She added that one of Prism’s advantages is the fact it can be configured in many different ways “to be as complex as it needs to be”.

The MIS will be implemented across Snap’s entire network, which includes Australia as well as five centres and one hub in New Zealand, 22 centres and one hub in Ireland, and two centres in China.

ProPrint will publish an in-depth feature on Snap’s move to Prism WIN in the November issue.
