SOS Print sets VarioPrint record

Based in the Sydney suburb of Alexandria, the company has installed a second 6250 after being impressed with the work-rate of its first machine, which has been clocking in at around 136,000 impressions per day, including weekends and public holidays.

“The printer’s ability to print instantaneous duplex has been a huge boon to productivity in the printing of time-critical financial reports we produce each night for a variety of financial institutions, as well as in our books-on-demand production,” said company director Michael Schulz (pictured).

“For some financials we receive the information from the customers between midnight and 3am, and we need to print, finish and package the reports so they can be delivered to subscriber bases before 6am the following morning.

“It’s the kind of operation where every second counts, so the time savings that the Océ VarioPrint 6250 has enabled us to make have proved crucial to our production process.

“It’s still going strong and we’re on our way to our second 100 million copies.”
