Spot installs Anapurna H2500i

Spot Productions, based in Brisbane, has installed the state’s first Agfa Anapurna H2500i LED press, combining it with an Agfa Acorta cutting table.

Spot managing director Simon Carmody says he made the installation to be able to offer his clients high-quality wide format print work, as he was previously outsourcing it.

He says, “Customers require a complete solution, one point of contact, one supplier to fulfil their requirements and expectations. Especially with national customers with numerous delivery points. Service and quality with time saving is the key to increase market share along with a simple solution to attract new clientele.

“Wide format is the biggest growing market in print. Our capacity is strong now, and we have secured campaigns across offset, digital, and now wide format. We also have a lot more installs, and point of sale work.

“It gives us simplicity, where customers can give us all of their work. In the past we outsourced some of the products, but now we can do it all ourselves. We can combine a letterbox drop with point of sale, traditional cutsheet work and wide format.

“So it closes the loops for large customers and their campaigns.

“We have national retail customers, multinational corporates, as well as direct clients and advertisers.

“Agfa is a strong brand, and we have enjoyed a strong relationship with them across our plates and imaging and are happy to continue that.

“It has been up and running for six months now, and the return has been substantial. Turnover in wide format display is increasing month on month which is great.”

The Anapurna H2500i LED offers six colour + white, hybrid board/roll printing at up to 115sqm per hour.

The Acorta is a 3000mm x 2000mm conversion table, complete with auto recognition systems and a multi tool cutting head for creasing, milling materials up to 50mm thick. It is capable of cutting speeds up to 102m per minute.

A spokesperson from Agfa says, “By utilising the latest curing technology, the H2500i enables the operator to print on corflute, composite panels, acrylics, foam PVC, banner stocks, paper, SAV, and heat sensitive stock.”

Carmody says,“The Anapurna LED H2500i offering suited our needs. The LED curing technology is a perfect fit for us, especially taking into account the diverse range of medias and stock we use on daily basis. The Acorta cutting table adds value, and the only thing that holds us back now is imagination. Creativity, shapes and dimensional finishes all happen on-site.”

Michael Culver, inkjet sales manager, Oceania, Agfa, says, “Working with Agfa’s commercial clients is an important part of our Inkjet growth strategy, especially as our markets continue to cross over. Spot are a loyal and dynamic customer and we are excited about their plans.

The Anapurna solution offers clients diversity and flexibility. It is a platform that is able to print both on roll and board up to 3.2mtr in length. Agfa’s new LED technology, enables the customer to print onto heat sensitive product, while utilising minimal power compared to other wide format platforms on the market.

“In my opinion, the wide format market is changing. Clients are now looking to partner with manufacturers that they can liaise with directly and that offer a pathway for growth.”
