Star product: Press-sense iWay 5.0

The software handles the print workflow from job order to delivery, integrating ordering, file creation, customisation, approval, printing and delivery into one operation.

The upgrade has a revamped user-friendly interface and features based on an enhanced infrastructure that offers improved scalability, as well as rapid development and integration of a range of products and plug-ins.

“These enhancements further support the service usability and online interface strengths of our customers,” said the firm’s vice president of sales, Elly Perets.

“We believe these advancements support our business flow automation vision and will aid printers in expanding their web-based platform into their mainstream business.”

New features include a simplified and enhanced menu structure, organisation of data, application setup, and new account-creation tools. Job-type definitions can now be customised by the user. Press-sense said printers can easily define the scope of options for print buyers to choose from, and create simple catalogue specifications.

Pricing schemes and production queues have been improved. The pricing model can examine multiple production options, such as offset or digital, automatically selecting the lowest price. In Queues, users can view production files and group, sort and filter them using the job information panel. It also enables the creation of customised product and print buyer catalogues.
