Stream: no conference in these difficult conditions

Last year marked the seventh outing of the annual suppliers conference, which has been held around August-September since its launch in 2004.

Stream general manager Clive Steele (pictured) said he felt the conference “had run its course” and it seemed inappropriate to ask printers to shell out for the event in this market.

“My major concern in this environment was asking printers to put their hand in their pocket,” said Steele.

He told ProPrint that the print management company had looked at refreshing the format and didn’t rule out future events, which would be “quite different”.

Steele added that the decision to shelve the event had nothing to do with Stream founder Andrew Price leaving the company earlier this year.
