SunLit Titan, which was given its world premiere at the Manroland sheetfed summit in May, is a high-speed, fast-drying ink range that the company claims will allow printers to accelerate and optimise their workflow at two stages of the printing process: printing and drying.
Using the ink, one-sided printed sheets dry within minutes – enabling the printer to print the reverse quicker. Once the second side is printed there is also a reduced waiting time, so sheets can go straight for finishing.
The quick drying ability has been introduced through patented raw materials that create a fast setting as well as fast and thorough oxidative drying.
Sun Chemical said that the ink was for a range of substrates and best used in small- to medium-run jobs, as sheets in longer-run jobs would have more time to dry.

Jason Kent, commercial business manager at DIC Australia, said Sunlit Titan is going to be available in Australia in early 2012.
“Sunlit Titan is a new product designed to deliver savings to our customers through time efficiencies on press,” he said,
“Sunlit Titan has exceptional drying qualities that allows jobs to be turned around straight away. It is particularly suited for work and turn jobs with a run length of 10,000 sheets or less. It eliminates the need to put coatings or sealers on the job prior to turning the sheet. For single sided work or inline perfecting the job can immediately be sent to the bindery.”
