The Bindery into trade mailing

The Bindery is making its first foray into trade mail services by installing a polywrapper, with further investment on the horizon.

Naresh Gulati, chief executive of parent company OCA Group, says expanding the award-winning finishing house to include mailing is a ‘logical step’ for the business and completes OCA’s chain of end-to-end trade services.

“Sending work to your finishing partner and then elsewhere to get ready for mailing and then to a mailing house is a waste of time and transport costs,” he says.

“Now when you send us finishing work we will have it packed and ready for distribution from your mailhouse of choice.”

The Norpak P9 PolyProcessor is operational in The Bindery’s Melbourne factory and ready for use by printers around the country. The finishing house will remain trade only.

Gulati says the machine onserts, inserts and wraps flat products including stationery, magazines, newspapers, and books.

“Inserts are slipped in, an address sheet is placed on top and the whole package is wrapped in a transparent polybag. It is quick, smart and a great alternative to regular envelopes,” he says.

“We are working to find ways to efficiency to the industry, giving printers more services to save more money.”

Gulati says printers can bundle the polywrapping with the The Bindery’s range of finishing services to get a better deal than using two different companies.

He says it too early to predict how much new business the PolyProcessor will haul in, but says a wider range of trade mailing services will be available early next year.
