Trotec holding open house

Trotec Laser (Trotec) is holding an open house at its Gregory Hills, Sydney site on Tuesday August 14, with bookings essential.

The company says it will be available all day for customers, with its showroom featuring  a broad range of laser machines, catering to small business, craft ventures, educational needs, trophy shops or large industrial setups.

Trotec has had a presence at the most recent PacPrint and Visual Connections shows, demonstrating its laser cutters, markers, and engravers to printers in the signage and wide format spaces. In October, it debuted its large format SP2000 laser cutter at Visual Impact.

At the time, Reece Moore, managing director of Trotec Laser Australia & New Zealand, noted, "This is an opportunity for people in the signage and print industries to get up close to such a large laser machine and see it working. We are looking forward to demonstrating the SP2000's JobControl Vision camera system for cutting large printed materials.

"Trotec's large format machines have only been shown at a handful of trade shows around the world and we are delighted to be bringing the SP2000."

A spokesperson from the company says, “The laser beam is the universally recognised tool for acrylic processing, regardless of the intended shape, thickness or purpose. In fact, you can save up to 88 per cent of acrylic processing costs by using a Trotec laser. The plastic and advertising industries have a lot to gain from laser technology.

“We would like to invite you to attend our upcoming Open House event and see how a Trotec laser can add value to your business.

“Acrylic (PMMA) is the best choice of material for laser processing, especially for applications like illuminated advertisements and signs. There is never any need for post-processing, and the laser always leaves you with a smooth, shiny edge (or in technical terms, a flame polished finish). Even acrylic panels, with a thickness of up to 25mm, can be cut with ease.

“Acrylic can also be effectively engraved, giving you a beautiful matte finish when processed with the CO2 laser. You can also achieve a colour-change effect when using a fiber laser.”
