Trotec scoops iF Design Award

Laser cutting machine manufacturer, Trotec was recently recognised with the iF Design Award for its large format laser cutter the SP3000, taking out the Product category of the awards ceremony. Trotec’s laser cutting and engraving systems are used in over 90 countries and the manufacturer has six showrooms across Australia and New Zealand. Its headquarters are located in Wels, Austria.

The accolade was given by the iF International Forum located in Hannover, Germany which has honoured design achievement since 1954. Other award winners were Samsung, Sony, Ferrari and Audi. According to Trotec, the SP3000 represents the biggest series of large format industrial laser cutters which can be used for acrylics, wood or textiles. Commenting on the award win, Trotec managing director Andreas Penz says, “The customer value is the main priority for us when developing a new product. A thoughtful design can make an important contribution, good usability and superior ergonomics lead to a more efficient workflow and as a consequence more profitability for our customers.”
