Worldwide Online exec promotes place of women in printing industry

The Worldwide national sales and marketing manager has joined the Queensland committee for the Franchising Council of Australia as well as the national committee of Women In Franchising.

Timms (pictured) told ProPrint that she was looking forward to "meeting other people in similar roles" at other franchising companies as part of her involvement in the FCA.

"They're very involved in Queensland, I've been very impressed with what they've been doing," she said.

Timms said she was particularly looking forward to promoting the role of women in business as part of her ascension to the Women in Franchising committee.

"I'm a strong believer in promoting women in franchising and women in print, because we are a bit under-represented," she said.

"The women franchisees I know are very successful, so it would be good to attract more."

Timms has worked at Worldwide for the past five years as part of a 30-year career in the printing industry. The ex-pat Brit once ran her own print shop in Manchester.

Established in 1983, the FCA is a not-for-profit trade association that represents franchisees, franchisors and service providers to the franchising sector.
