Trade printer Cheque-Mates has installed three printers to increase efficiency and offer a complete solution to print businesses.
Speaking with Australian Printer, Peter Cowell, NSW GM of Cheque-Mates, says the trade printer has invested in two Fuji Xerox 800 Colour presses and a Nuvera 144MX.
Cowell says, “We see a huge opportunity for a flexible trade only digital colour offering to integrate into the back of our partners’ workflows.
“With shorter runs in the mail segment, together with our expertise in handling data we believe we have something great to help our partners help their customers.
“Regarding the 144MX, it is focused on Trade MICR work. With a decline in MICR and the vast majority of MICR machines in the market being ‘end of lifed’ in the next 18 months we believe that various companies would be better served to outsource this part of their overall volume to someone they can trust versus investing in under-utilised capital.”
He says Cheque-Mates already have great flexible automated workflow so this will add to that from a capacity and capability perspective.
“We have a responsibility to showcase examples of clear toner and we will be doing that at our Christmas Harbour Cruise for our VIP Partners.”
Cowell says, “It’s the right thing for our partners’ growth and that is where our focus lies. We are only as good as our partners and we exist to support their businesses.
“We have no doubt we can deliver amazing results and that has to be a good thing.”
He says selecting the equipment took time and careful consideration.
Cowell says, “After a three month process with many stakeholders involved we realised that the vendor market is shifting and that there are plenty of players nipping at the heels of Fuji Xerox Australia. These players have great devices with quality output.
“That being said we value our long term relationship with Fuji Xerox Australia highly and the quality of these devices is applauded within the industry.
“The clear toner gave us another string to our bow and the depth of technicians and coverage within Fuji Xerox Australia saw them ahead of the pack for what we needed.
“As a trade partner we can’t afford to let our partners down due to downtime so the service aspect was important to our decision.”
