Direct Mail & Marketing merges with fellow Melbourne firm Datasend

DMM managing director Fred Humphrey told ProPrint that the merger will take effect from March 2011, and that he will head up the combined entity.

Datasend will relocate its operations, including most of its equipment, from its Braeside site to DMM’s headquarters in the suburb of Dandenong.

Humphrey said he didn’t yet know how many of Datasend’s staff would also make the journey from Braeside to Dandenong.

“There is a large quantity of staff employed on a casual basis,” he said.

Humphrey said the deal would provide DMM with “additional services” in its web printing division, ‘Four Trade Only’, as well as boosting its knowledge of XMPie functions.

He added that the company would be able to broaden its use of SMS, email and cross media campaigns, particularly using PURLs (personalised URLs).
