Epson’s new SurePress hits Aussie shores

Epson has released its fresh label press from its flagship SurePress portfolio, the SurePress L-6034VW into the Australian print market.

The L-6034VW model is the first Epson press to use the supplier’s PrecisionCore linehead technology and its low migration LED UV curing ink.

According to Epson, the new SurePress machine is an ideal candidate for label producers investing in a digital label press for the first time, or printers looking to expand production facilities.

The digital press delivers high-speed printing and is aimed at for short-to-mid run jobs across a plethora of industries including food, beverage, beauty and health label markets.

Craig Heckenberg, Epson Australia business division general manager says the SurePress L-6034VW arrives in a local market that has long anticipated a UV label press with such speed and production quality.

“The market has been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the L-6034VW and for good reason as the printer now offers users a flexible, easy-to-use UV digital label press that produces better quality labels than ever before,” says Heckenberg.

“As a result, prime label and packaging producers can fulfil demanding and varying portfolios, create new revenue opportunities and increase their productivity and profitability.”

Epson says its PrecisionCore technology is the key driver behind the label printer’s high performance, low maintenance and even lower running costs. The large drum and cool LEDs ensure consistent and predictable imaging with minimal media expansion or shrinkage, while an advanced web transport system with direct steering ensures precise tracking.

It also asserts the unit’s ability to print on high-opacity UV white ink boosts image impact on clear or metallic substrates and expands the variety of labels that it can produce.

Some 200 SurePress digital label units have been installed worldwide, and sales of the series have almost doubled since 2014.

The SurePress L4033A models marked Epson’s debut into web-fed label printing after its release in 2010, and in 2012 it engineered its label presses with white ink capability.
