IVE Group has become a member of Seamless, Australia’s first clothing stewardship scheme, becoming the first uniform supplier to become a member.
Commencing operations in July 2024, Seamless’ mission is to create a circular clothing industry by 2030, transforming how clothing is made, used and recycled in Australia.
Other Seamless foundation members include David Jones, Lorna Jane and the Sussan Group.
Seamless members are responsible clothing brands and retailers that recognise that they are responsible for the entire life of the garments they place on the market, from design through to re-use and recycling.
With 1.4 billion units of new clothing manufactured or imported into Australia each year and over 200,000 tonnes ending up in Australian landfill every year, Seamless is on a mission to create systematic and transformational change through industry collaboration.
IVE Group supplies uniforms to a range of industries across the retail, hospitality, security and lifestyle sectors.
IVE Group chief people and sustainability officer Olivia Tyler said, “We’re delighted to become a member of Seamless – it’s a really important step for IVE and our clients, and speaks to our collective approach to sustainability and circularity.
“The challenges in the Australian clothing industry are considerable but there’s real strength in coming together and pooling resource, expertise and innovation to collectively drive change.
“Partnering with Seamless will give us the platform and tools to transform how uniforms are designed, produced, delivered and most importantly, treated at end-of-life. It’s an entire overhaul of how it’s currently done and we’re doing what it takes to lead this fresh and much needed approach in the space.”
Seamless membership and marketing general manager Karen Thomas said, “We’re thrilled to welcome IVE Group, our first uniform provider, as such a valued member of Seamless.
“IVE’s responsible leadership and commitment to innovation is truly inspiring, and together we can drive continuous improvement and a brighter more sustainable future for the clothing industry, including uniforms.”
