PMP loses another executive as Gordon & Gotch MD resigns

Craig Davison left PMP's magazine distribution business at the end of February. He was replaced by New Zealand general manager David Hogan, who has been with Gordon & Gotch for 11 years.

Davison said Gordon & Gotch was losing money when he joined in 2005 because PMP had struggled to integrate it into its operations.

PMP acquired Gordon & Gotch's Australian assets in 1999 and its New Zealand arm in 2004.

Davison told ProPrint he had helped make Gordon & Gotch "the number one distributor in the marketplace" after returning it to profit and diversifying into books and digital publishing.

Gordon & Gotch also helped the Cancer Council raise $1 million during his time in charge, he added.

"I've taken it through its paces and left the place in better shape than I found it… I came, conquered and it's time to move on and find a new challenge," he said.

Davison said he would go on a two-month family holiday and then hold talks about his next role, which he said was likely to be in print or media.

Davison is the fourth PMP executive to leave the print giant in the past year following the departures of chief executive Richard Allely, executive general manager of print and distribution Andrew Williams and executive general manager Graham Plant.
