Q&A: Paul Cavalier, Print Storm

Paul Cavalier founded Print Storm six years ago when he was only 18. If this self-described class clown wasn’t running a printing business he would possibly be an astronaut. He spends a lot of time fixing paper jams.

What is your favourite phrase?

That’s one small step for Paul, one giant leap for mankind.

What would be your dream job?

Being an astronaut or commercial pilot.

Which superpower would you like?

The ability to fix digital printers.

What was your childhood obsession?

Being the class clown.

Which piece of print are you most proud of?

This Q&A. By far the most publicity I’ve ever received.

What’s one of the biggest stuff-ups you’ve made in your career?

Offering canvas printing as a service – because life wasn’t stressful enough.

If you didn’t work in print, what would you be doing?

Playing flight simulators and eating my girlfriend’s cheesecake.

Reveal a secret talent that you have.

The ability to smile and pretend I care when the world’s worst customers walk

How do you like to unwind?

Unjamming paper jams – by far the most relaxing thing I am do at work.

What is your favourite piece of kit?

My Mini Cooper S. The only car I’ve ever owned that can get around a corner faster than my mind can.

What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?

‘Don’t start a print business, you’re too young and you’ve got no industry experience’… I’m so glad someone put up the challenge.
