Snap Toowoomba steps up with new Horizon CRF-362 Creaser Folder

For Snap Toowoomba owner, Shane Bertolotti, the decision to invest in a new Horizon CRF-362 Creaser Folder was all about finding a machine which could easily slot into his print shop and be a machine all his staff could operate efficiently.

Being tucked away from the metropolitan centres, Bertolotti said business had been surprisingly strong during the two COVID-impacted years as he continued to service print needs in the Toowoomba, Dalby and surrounding areas in Queensland.

With his older Multigraf creaser folder showing signs of age, he decided to look around for a new machine which could offer ease of use for staff but also the ability to perforate the high number of vouchers and tickets he finds himself printing.

The Horizon CRF-362 from Currie Group delivered on these needs and has been kept busy since being installed recently.

“We had an older Multigraf machine which we’ve had for five or so years, which provided a similar function, but it had come to its end of its life, so we started looking around and came across this Horizon,” Bertolotti told Sprinter.

“I was happy with how it presented and how it was built. It offers perforating which is really good for us. We don’t do really complex perforating and this machine just does a beautiful job for us.

“It is easy to run – you basically load it, run it, forget it and come back and it is all done. There are no real issues at all, and the ease of use is just such a big thing for us.”

The Horizon CRF-362 Creaser Folder is perfect for creasing and folding heavier sheets in one pass to avoid cracking of digitally printed stocks.

It is suitable for creasing covers, restaurant menus, shop cards, invitations and laminated sheets. It is also useful for preparing perfect bound book covers and has two-fold knives which are equipped for high quality folding, even on heavier stocks. Six different folding patterns can be set up in the easy-to-use pre-set function on the icon-based touch screen.

Bertolotti said he has now owned a Snap franchise for 12 years. He originally built Snap Dalby on a greenfield site, but then later purchased the Toowoomba franchise. He now operates both businesses out of one site in Toowoomba servicing the Toowoomba and Dalby and surrounding areas.

“We do a bit of everything. We do a lot of real estate, manufacturing, business services, accountants, financial advisors, event work, we do quite a mix,” he said.

“We have been going really well. This has probably been the busiest couple of years we’ve ever had so that is a good thing. Others haven’t been quite as lucky, but I think we are fortunate as we have been a little bit insulated which has helped. It is quite buoyant around here and that has been advantageous to us which has a flow on effect to our business as well.”

Michael Mostyn, Queensland sales account manager at Currie Group says, “The CRF-362 is the perfect combination of ease of use, reliability and speed for PSP’s such as SNAP Toowoomba. Shane has built a fantastic business, lean and as efficient as possible. The compact design and large icon driven touchscreen of the CRF-362 enables his staff to set up a job and get on with other things, trusting in its reliability until completion.”
